This summer as I have worked at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts I had the chance to discovere one of my favorite artists. His name is Charlie Lucas and he is one of the most unique and inspiring people I have ever met. Charlie is a great man, an incredible artist, and a phenomenal sculptor. His nickname is "The Tinman" and I don't know if I could think of a better name that fits all of his work. He uses a variety of parts from cars and other machines to make his masterpieces. This sculpture is one of many in a field just outside the museum and I love when we get to take the class outside to discover these animals. The kids love to get up close to this art and make up crazy stories about dinosaurs and other creatures. It's so precious! Wednesday, July 28, 2010
